Wow! What a harvest November has been!  I think the biggest yet, in greens anyway.  (have you signed up for our Winter Share — you’ll find them there!)  From the hot, dry summer to the cold November, we have really pushed ourselves this year.  These past weeks have been busier than usual, packing orders, prepping produce donations, cleaning up essentials before winter (emptying irrigation so pipes don’t burst, etc) and squeezing in as much harvest as we can in the teensy “produce isn’t frozen” window.  The fall harvest window is always tricky, but this year has been even trickier with the cold nights and cloudy days — I think we used up all of our sun credits this summer!

Both coolers are PACKED to the brim for your winter eating!!!

While we are busting at the seams with abundance, many families are struggling to feed themselves.  Weather you believe in government assisted programs or not, the need for food aid is real.  We partner up with several local non-profits and volunteer groups like Good Shepard, Gather to Grow, Androscoggin Gleaners and We Feed Us – Lewiston.  The numbers they serve are staggering.  For example, We Feed Us – Lewiston, served over 3000 meals in less than a month.  Less than a month!  And we are a small town!  We donate produce to these groups all year long and you can help!! Donate and we can double our giving.  We all know how important fresh food is, let alone a single meal.  Let’s help our neighbors.

We are so grateful here at Little Ridge.  Our crew, the soil and you made this year a bountiful success.  The seed catalogs are already coming in and we are excited to grow again!

Please join us in our winter delights.

The shares a wonderful selection of fresh greens, cabbages, sweet roots and your allium staples (think leeks, onions, garlic).

We have shares to fit every eating style and budget!!  Plus, we’d just love to grow food for you.
