Soooo many tomatoes!

This year has been one of our largest tomato harvests! Despite the calendar, these globes are still gorgeous and flavorful.  The warm weather has kept them ripening nicely.  And they want you to gobble them up!  It seems as though folks are over the tomato craze, but don’t switch to winter squash yet, as it will be nearly 10 months before you get a sun ripened, juicy sweet Little Ridge Farm tomater again!

Our daily work load will shift from weekly CSA harvest to storage crop harvest soon.  Later this week looks in the upper 30’s but I am not sure it will frost as it looks like it will be cloudy.  No frost makes October sooo much easier for us, not having to cover crops up to keep them spritely for you.  But once November hits, bring on the cold!  The colder weather sweetens things like cabbage, carrots and parsnips up.  We like to wait to until there’s a chill in the air to harvest the winter storage goods.

3 more weeks of CSA left! So many goodies to bite in to!

Be sure to reserve your summer & winter spots.
