Benny is intrigued, if not scared of the baby turkeys.  He likes to watch them but as soon as one gets close he runs away.  He is in forever “play with me” mode so maybe he is just playing peek-a-boo : )

Harvesting in the rain has become our new norm.  As well as transplanting in mud.  We have yet to weed in the mud, but we are getting to the point where I can no longer ignore the grass inching taller than the lettuce mix.  (You indeed may find some in your future salad : )  Honestly, the rain has been welcome for me after the stressful 4 years of drought.  I like the slower pace and the electricity that makes everything more fluid.  Bring your rain coat and take a walk around, everything is so ALIVE and VIBRANT.  Listen to the birds.  Let your eyes soak in all the lushness.   There are a few projects on hold (like moving the pigs because we can’t safely move their hut about) and some crops are definitely growing slower due to the lack of sun (we will bring more diversity to your table as soon as mother nature allows), but for the most part all is happy and we hope you are finding happiness between the rain drops too.

From bright beauty to yummy delights!  Thank you to our crew member, Sylvie, for sharing these photos of her chard quiche.  I think everyone on our crew this year likes to cook (we even have one chef!).  It has been fun to hear what everyone is creating with the bounty.  LET US KNOW how we can best share (and allow you to share) recipes and storage tips by fill out THIS survey.  As you all know, I cook simple and don’t generally use recipes, so I need a little help getting info out to those who love cooking, need a quick tip or want to share their creations with everyone.
